Barney McGill

Barney Z. McGill, 91 of Luxora, passed peacefully from this world to his eternal home on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro.

Born to Daniel and Annie Baswell McGill, Barney was a retired farmer. He was a workaholic. If he was working, he was happy. Working was his hobby, and he worked hard at a fast pace.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Danels McGill; son, Roy McGill; and five sisters, Mary Sipes, Lula Sipes, Eula Wallace, Genevie Whitney, and Jewell Simpson.

Barney is survived by his children, Gary McGill and Betty McGill both of Luxora;

One sister, Bonnie Stokes of Blytheville;

Grandchildren, Jerra Baker (John), Reid Quinton (Stacy), and Aaron McGill (Ashley); and

Five great grandchildren, Nicole McGill, Ashton McGill, Bryce Quinton, Bria Quinton, and Roy Baker.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 3, 2015, in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bennie Isom officiating. Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
