Information about social services, nonprofit organizations and government agencies in Mississippi County are now available in one place with the County Resource Directory.
"This a directory of services available to Mississippi County residents," Mississippi County Library System director, Kevin Barron, explained. "It is used by providers and patrons. Up to this point it has been something that has been edited and updated every several years. The Literacy Council, in conjunction with the Mississippi County Interagency Council, updated in 2010. We have decided to update it again and put it online so we can keep it up to date as we go along."
The directory can be accessed by going to www.mclibrary.net. The Resource Directory will be updated regularly with all the private, government, nonprofit and social service providers in the county, but staying up to date is dependent on public response.
"The accuracy of it depends of the people providing the information," Barron said. "So providers will want to check it and make sure their information is accurate. And if they are not in there they will need to contact us with their information. To contact us with corrections, additions or questions email dhester@mclibrary.net."
Barron said the library system is proud to help provide this needed resource to the county.
