Alvin Bynum
Mr. Alvin "Al" Merle Bynum, Sr., 77, of Hardy passed away at home. He was born on April 3, 1938 to Samuel Bennett Bynum and Eva Mae Glass Bynum.
His usual occupation before becoming disabled was a sheet metal worker. He also served in the United States Army.
He had a unique sense of humor and never met a stranger. His hobbies included fishing, but his favorite thing to do was watch sports on ESPN! He loved football...he didn't have a favorite team...but chose based on who was going to play in the Superbowl!
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Wanda Cowert.
He is survived by his children: Alvin Merle Bynum, Jr. of Blytheville AR, Michael Bennett Bynum and wife Amber of Hardy AR, Sheri Leann Bynum of Marion AR, and Connie Jo Miller and husband Jared of Blytheville AR;
He also helped raise two step daughters: Cathy Renae Simmons and her husband Sandy of Steele MO and Tammy Kaye Modesitt of Jonesboro AR;
He has 19 grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren and two on the way;
Three brothers, Ivan Bynum, Harold Bynum, and Glen Bynum;
One sister, Mary Young and husband Jerry.
Memorial services will be held at Carney Funeral Home Chapel on Friday at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be at 10:00 until service begins. Bro. Gary Hyde will be officiating. Condolences may be offered at www.carneyfuneralhome.com.
