A local teenager was shot in the right ear around 8 p.m. Monday at Williams Park. A local teenager was shot in the right ear around 8 p.m. Monday at Williams Park.

The victim was transported from Great River Medical Center to Lebonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis; his condition is unknown at this time.

Police recovered a bullet from the victim, according to Capt. Scott Adams, the Blytheville Criminal Investigations Division Commander.

"The victim was able to give officers a statement of what occurred and that he was walking with a cousin and another black male he did not know," Adams said in a press release. "At some point the cousin and the offender became involved in an altercation with the unknown male shooting at the cousin and striking the victim. Officers did locate a scene and evidence in connection to the shooting."
