BLYTHEVILLE-The Blytheville Hardy Sales and Service Casons dropped their first two zone games Saturday losing to Mountain Home, losing 10-3 and 10-4 Saturday at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex.
GAME ONE
Mountain Home 10, Blytheville 3
Mountain Home scored five runs in the first inning and never looked back on their way to a 10-3 win over Blytheville in game one of a zone double-header Saturday at the Sportsplex.
Chad Wrigth scored runs in the first and third innings for the Casons who responded to cut the lead to 5-3 but not before Mountain Home scored a pair in the in the fifth and two more insurance runs in the seventh to put the game away.
Wright (1-3), Michael Miller (1-3) and Zack Gray (2-2) picked up hits for the Casons in game one.
GAME 2
Mountain Home 10, Blytheville 4
Blytheville jumped out to an early, 4-1, lead but Mountain Home rallied late to post a 10-4 come from behind victory to sweep the double-header.
Zack Gray, Riley Hickerson and Chad Wright hit collected consecutive hits in a three-run first inning for the Casons. Will Camp scored in the second to up the Blytheville lead to 4-1. But that was all the scoring on the night for the Casons as Mountain Home pitching settled in and shutout Blytheville over the remaining five innings.
In the meantime, Mountain Home plated a run in each of the third and fourth innings and three more in the fifth.
Cole Anderson put the game away with a grand slam in the sixth to end the scoring for the night.
Gray (1-4), Hickerson (2-3), Wright (1-3) and Justin Mann (1-3) led the offense for the Casons.
Blytheville (1-2, 0-2 zone) heads to Mayfield, Ky. Tuesday for a double header starting at 5:30 p.m.
The Casons return home Thursday to take on Charleston. First pitch starts at 5:30 p.m.
