A nurse at Great River Medical Center was apparently attacked while assisting a patient who was stabbed in Burdette on Sunday.

The nurse told police that she was one of the nurses trying to assist a stabbing patient and, while doing so, the offender shoved her back and shouted "I will beat your face in, (expletive)."

The nurse pushed the offender away and continued to assist the patient.

The offender shoved her a second time, causing her to fall to the ground, the report said.

A paramedic came to the nurse's rescue, taking the offender to the ground and breaking up the altercation, the report noted.

The offender had allegedly stabbed his uncle with a knife in Burdette and, during the altercation, struck his mother with his vehicle, the report said.

The offender then transported both his uncle and mother to Great River Medical Center.

The offender was later detained and placed into custody for investigation.

A juvenile child was released to his aunt and authorities notified the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline because the child was in the vehicle when both incidents took place.
