The ACT 2! community theater group will bring the play "Two Witches, No Waiting" to the stage of the Ritz Civic Center this June 12, 13 and 14.
The play, written by Pat Cook and directed by Sarah Jackson, will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday.
In this comedy, "Arlene Marcus (played by Jeanette Sells) and her sister, Elizabeth (played by Carol Walls), are known far and wide in South Texas as friendly and charitable but a little eccentric. This is understandable, because it is also known that they are witches. At least, that's the story spread by their housekeeper, Opal Dunn (played by Tonya Harris), just before she vanishes. Sheriff Jeb Abercrombie (played by Tom Henry) seems a little shy about investigating for some reason. Arlene's son, Jeremy (Aaron FitzPatrick), tries to keep a lid on things by trying to get the sisters to sell their house to Eustace Sternwood (played by Greg Groves), the father of his fiancé, Kit (played by Jordan Henson). Jeremy already has his hands full, so what happens when he seems to be falling in love with Bonnie (played by Candie Groves), the new housekeeper? And just who is she? And why does she keep making reports to someone over her cellphone? It's a heady brew of twists and turns, where anything can happen.
" Two Witches, No Waiting " is being produced by special arrangement with the Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Ill.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $5.00 for kids 6 to 12 and free for kids 5 and under. Group rates are available. For more information, contact the Ritz Civic Center at 870-762-1744 or visit www.act2blytheville.org.
