Shelly is beautiful and loves attention. Please come to the Blytheville Humane Society Tuesday through Sunday from 1 - 5 p.m. and visit Shelly and lots of deserving dogs, cats and kittens.

Chesney, who came to us as a surrender with Libby an older Springer Spaniel and Cole a Poodle/Dachshund mix, is going to a wonderful rescue Wednesday. Retrievers and friends of St. Louis is a no kill foster based rescue and it is obvious from their page that they help all Retrievers. They are very mixed - a beauty with one eye - and others of every color. Chesney will live with a certified trainer for a few weeks and then join her foster family until she is adopted. When we took her for a heart worm test (negative) she would not walk once in the office and insisted on being carried. We are delighted that she will have this opportunity to be the best she can be.

Waffle, the cutest blond short haired/short legged fella you would want to meet found his home this week. He was left in the outside pen covered in a blanket and was scared half to death. Once inside, he was happy and playful - we are so glad his stay was short.

I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Belvedere. He is a black Lab mix with a single white streak. Always calm and endearing to everyone and we could not figure out why he was passed over time and time again. We know from experience that when it is the right time, the right person will come and she did. He will now live in the big city of St. Louis with his new mom who is a teacher.

Tiffany our sweet fostered Beagle is now adopted. Her new family will finalize her forever status next Saturday at our Petco adoption event.

Three families in and around Blytheville have been successful with spay/neuter/release. Three cats who were just "hanging around" have been caught in live traps and transported to a vet where they were altered, returned to the place they had picked for home and released. The humane society has a low cost spay/neuter program - call Diane J. at 870-623-0594.

Thank you Rick and Connie A. for fostering two puppies who needed special care. Rick was at a meeting and a caring person had found these two babies and brought them along so they could join the shelter bunch. He volunteered to take them where they would get top notch attention (Connie). They are now in great shape and leaving for Wright Way Rescue this week where they will be adopted.
