The Bean Fest was a great success. We want to thank everyone who baked cakes and cornbread, cooked beans and helped serve.

Miss Northeast Arkansas, Miss Teen Northeast Arkansas, Miss Lights of the Delta and Miss Teen Lights of the Delta did a wonderful job, serving, greeting our guests and cleaning up. These beautiful, friendly ladies had a smile on their faces throughout the entire event. Lou White did a great job coordinating the annual event. The Henry 22 Rifle was auctioned off, congratulations Paige H.

Proceeds from the Bean Fest and other fundraisers go to animals in need. One of these animals is Isabella. Her owner had hit hard times and had to move back to Florida. She could not take her dog. A stranger took the dog in and then could no longer care for it. The owner contacted us for help. Isabella was spayed, vaccinated. A volunteer drove to Navarre Florida to deliver Isabella to her owner. What a great reunion that was and not a dry eye in the group that had assembled waiting to see the reunion.

We also saw the adoption of Hope this week. Abandon at a vet office with a damaged leg. The sweet scared beagle girl was so kind and hungry for attention that we stepped up; had her leg evaluated, it was determined complete nerve damage and amputated, Hope was spayed, then went into a foster home where she blossomed into a sweet loving girl for the past year, Sunday she met her forever family.

Chauncey, a former pitbull-mix shelter dog, was found running loose in South Carolina. The microchip we placed led the finders to contact us. The former owners had moved and Chauncey had run off. They decided not to take her back. While working to get Chauncey back to the shelter, the family who found her realized what a wonderful dog she was and filled out an application for adoption. Chauncey was saved with her microchip.

Pippa, Kendrick and Nicolas were adopted at Petco. Princess and Jack were adopted at Tractor Supply. Raskal and Lovey were adopted and Roxy is in a foster to adopt home. Fenx and Jenx two Russian Blue Cats were also adopted. It is always exciting to see these animals go to their new homes. Susie B reports that 11 dogs were transported this past week.
