Bill Courtney will be speaking at First Baptist Church at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 20.
Courtney, a motivational speaker and entrepreneur, is the former head coach of the Manassas High School Tigers in North Memphis.
His story was the subject of the 2011 Academy Award winning documentary "Undefeated" which chronicled his 2009 football season.
Courtney, who is the founder and CEO of Classic American Hardwoods, has written a book, "Against The Grain: A Coach's Wisdom On Character, Faith, Family And Love" with Michael Arkush, forward by Phil Jackson published by Weinstein Books.
Courtney will be speaking about the book and his experiences. In the book he "describes the key principles -- including service, civility, leadership, character, commitment and forgiveness -- that have helped young people and adults to live better and more fulfilled lives."
