Leachville pastor Don Johnson recently attended the annual Winter Jam at the FedEx Forum in Memphis with the youth group and came up with the idea of the walk in an effort to share with the residents of Leachville how much Jesus loves everyone and what he did for the world.

He challenged the youth department to take up the cross for the "about a mile" walk of Jesus to Calvary.

The youth went to work and demonstrated God's love on Easter morning.

Ashley Barber said people were taking pictures, making videos and some even stood and cried as the cross passed by.

One of the remarks heard was: "I was so touched, I cried all the way to church." Other viewers said it gave them chills.

The youth group expressed their thankfulness to live in a country that allows them to express their faith while Christians are being killed for their faith in other parts of the world.

One of the band members at the Winter Jam concert made this comment, "Jesus walked about a mile. How far will you go?"

The People of Praise youth group stepped out on Sunday morning to show their love for Jesus to their community.
