Mr. and Mrs. Jim Dixon of Jonesboro, formerly of Blytheville, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, Feb. 28 at the home of V.R. and Peggy Meatte, along with several other family members. The family enjoyed a fish fry, followed by cake and punch.
The couple was married on March 5, 1965, at Armorel Baptist Church in Armorel.
Both Jim and Margrett have spent almost their entire careers in the educational field. Jim has a total of 49 years in his teaching and coaching career. He started at Armorel, then moved to Blytheville, where he had the privilege of coaching the first high school basketball team to win a state basketball championship. From Blytheville, they moved to Texas, and then to Jonesboro before retiring a couple of years ago.
Margrett has a total of 30 years in her teaching career before having to retire because of health reasons.
The couple now lives in Jonesboro with their two dogs, Max and Jazz.
