Buffalo Island Central completed its regular season with a 65-47 win Thursday night over Manila at the Mustang Athletic Complex in Monette.

The Lady Mustangs held a slim 10-9 edge after the first quarter, but outscored the Lady Lions 22-8 in the second period to take a 32-17 advantage into the dressing room at the half. BIC held a 42-29 lead heading into the final frame.

Karoline Thomas recorded a double-double to lead the Lady Mustangs, scoring 20 points while grabbing 10 rebounds. Bailey Owens poured in 19 points including five three pointers on the night. Hannah Poe also hit double digits, scoring 13 points. Madison Greathouse and Blaire Wildy chipped in five points apiece while Megan Webster added three. BIC made 21-30 free throw attempts and finished the night drilling eight three pointers.

Taylor Harmon led Manila with 15 points while Lauren Woody added 14. Hannah McQueen scored five, Jordyn Wheeler and Kailen Shelton tallied three points each while Heather Hollis, Courtney Scott, Sarah Pentecost and Hannah Teague added two points apiece. The Lady Lions connected on 14-21 foul shots and knocked down four three pointers on the night.

BIC (20-9) is scheduled to begin 2A-District Tournament play Wednesday afternoon at 4 p.m at East Poinsett County in Lepanto. The fourth seeded Lady Mustangs will play the winner of fifth seeded Earle and number eight seed Cross County.

The Lady Lions are set to begin 3A-3 District Tournament play Monday night in the Lions Den.
