The cause of death for 46-year-old Blytheville resident Linda Diane White, who died in a fire Friday on Anderson Street night, has been found to be smoke inhalation, according to Blytheville Fire Department Chief Mike Carney.
Carney said Mississippi County Coroner Mike Godsey reported there were no signs of foul play in White's death.
The cause of the fire, which began around 11 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 30, is officially listed as "undetermined" according to Carney. While no obvious signs of accelerants or any other foul play were present, Carney said samples taken from the fire's point of origin were sent to the Arkansas Crime Lab for further testing. Carney also said the state fire marshal was at the scene and agreed with BFD's findings.
Carney said the department is still awaiting test results from the samples.
