BPD car damaged in wreck; no injuries

No major injuries were reported in two-vehicle accident midday Thursday that involved a Blytheville Police Department patrol unit and a white Dodge SUV.

According to BPD officers on the scene, the accident occurred at the intersection of Walnut Street and Fifth Street as officer Michael Shivley was heading west on Walnut en route to a medical call.

The driver of the white SUV apparently pulled off of Fifth Street, according to witness reports, hitting Shivley.

A portion of Walnut Street was blocked of between Broadway Street and Fifth while waiting for Arkansas State Police to arrive on scene to work the accident.
