Dennis Michael Henson
Dennis Michael Henson, 59, of Blytheville passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at NEA Hospital in Jonesboro.
He was born on Feb. 5, 1955, in Blytheville to Chester Harvey and Eula Mae Whittle Henson. In earlier years, he was a roofer, but before becoming disabled he worked for Courier News for over 20 years.
He was a big Civil War and history buff. He was very proud of his family history. His grandmother's family was a pioneer of Yarbro. He always looked forward to Thanksgiving because he knew he was going to get some of his daughter's coconut cream pie! He loved little "Lucy," his dog. He would call home and leave a message on the answering machine so that she could hear his voice. He was a good person who had a heart of gold, but was a very private person. He also enjoyed drawing. He loved his wife, daughter and grandkids more than anything!
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brian Bargett; a grandson, Dustyn Wade; three brothers, Doyle "Sonny" Henson, Darrell "Buddy" Henson and Danny Henson; and his best buddy and brother-in-law, Gary Holifield.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Becky Bargett Henson of Blytheville;
His daughter, Jessica (Kem Hardin) Henson of Rector;
His grandchildren, Matthew Henson of Rector, Kale Hardin of Rector, Bayleigh Oliver of Paragould and Shay Henson of Rector;
A brother, David (Barbara) Henson of Elizabethtown, Arkansas;
Two sisters, Pam (Dan) Fagin of Louisville, Kentucky, and Pat Holifield of Blytheville;
Many nieces and nephews; and
A host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3 at Carney Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Mike Welch officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service begins. Burial will be in Carney Cemetery.
