The Carson and Barnes Circus, tagged "the world's biggest big top show," is returning to Blytheville to perform two shows Sunday at the Arkansas Aeorplex.
Carson and Barnes, which has been in business for more than 70 years and has performed well over 30,000 shows during its history, will be setting up in Blytheville this weekend as the circus makes its way through the Mid-South.
Liz Smith, executive director for the Greater Blytheville Area Chamber of Commerce, which is sponsoring the event, said the circus has an outstanding reputation for providing not only high-quality entertainment, but a lasting impact as well.
This year, in addition to the big top show, the Blytheville Fire Department and the Chamber have teamed up with the Carson and Barnes crew to host a free elephant shower at 12:30 p.m. before Sunday's performance.
The circus will be set up in the parking lot near the Lansing and Dallas intersection at the Aeroplex, and performances will be at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for children, in advance, or $16 for adults and $10 for children at the door. Carson and Barnes coupons will be accepted, and are available at the Chamber office, or online at www.carsonandbarnescircus.com or at the gate on Sunday.
