Shelter Stories -- 9/9/14

Cindy, a small Beagle mix found a home in Memphis with children to keep her company. Lilly Girl, an Australian Shepard mix, is with a family in Tennessee. Cindy and Lilly had been at the shelter for over a year, and we are so happy for these sweet girls.

Red, a female Irish Sitter mix was adopted by a lady from St. Louis who had lost her dog to cancer. Patsy, a Terrier mix met a lady at our Petco event in Jonesboro who needed a roommate/friend. Cookie, a Shi Tzu mix went to Doggone Pretty Grooming for a makeover and a couple came in and it was love at first sight.

Chadwick, a male Chihuahua is now in a foster home which we hope will become permanent. Bellany, a very cute puppy is now in a foster home -- please go to petfinder.com (72315) if you are considering a youngster, she is a "keeper."

The last four days brought four dogs -- two on one highway and two on another highway. Lucky for these roamers, caring people brought them to the Humane Society.

The first two had tags and their owners were called and came to take them home.

The second two have no tags but are well cared for -- a Rottweiler mix and blond Terrier - their pictures are on the Blytheville Humane Society Facebook page.

We hope the cooler weather will make folks want to come to the Blytheville Humane Society and walk a dog or two. Our dogs go out for exercise twice a day but need to get out and experience new sights and smells, and most of all have a person give them attention. You will feel better and so will your shelter friend.
