Our Pet of the Week is Baby Doll, an 8-year-old. 10-pound Scottie mix. Her family got her when she was a puppy and can no longer take care of her. She spent the first day looking for her person; however, her second day got better and all she needs is a new family. She is in a foster home and if interested please call 870-838-5512...

Cenisa, who was in our article a few weeks ago as a lost little boy, has been found. He was spotted once in a 5-mile radius of where he got out. Sunday, kids on a four-wheeler notified an adult that he was in a field in the same area. He is thin, tick-bitten and very glad to be in his safe home.

The Blytheville Humane Society Facebook page also helped a man from Buckeye find his dog. We thank God for the safe return of these two very loved animals.

We had nothing but great things happen this week. Two years ago, a lady dropped off Tank and Gabby, thick-haired medium dogs she had raised from puppies. Tank was very protective of Gabby, so it was hard for them to appeal to anyone interested in adopting. After months, Gabby went to a home, and after a short time, missed Tank so much she pulled clumps of hair out and the family brought her back. They now have a home together in Jonesboro. Jessica and family took them so that a home visit could be done and to be sure they were comfortable.

We had just got to Petco when a lady who had lost one of her dogs to old age came up and saw Brownie, a female reddish cutie who had been with us several months. She immediately took her for a walk and said she wanted to adopt and hoped her other dog would accept a new sister.

Milan, a beautiful pit bull who was dropped off two years ago found a home. Her former family had used her a breeder but kept her in the house so she was use to kids and other dogs. Because of her breed and stoic personality, no one looking for a pet really spent time with her to give her a chance. Finally a family from Jonesboro fell for her and as she was driven away, one of the kids covered her face with kisses.

Lucy Lou, a grayish Terrier found in Dell who had been in a foster home for a few months was adopted. Her person from Ripley, Tenn., just graduated from college and had been looking for her "first" rescue dog. Pictures of them lying in bed looking lovingly at each other are priceless.

Diane J. is our new spay/neuter coordinator. Please call 870-623-0594 for an appointment to complete our form (based on income). We received some grant money for people who cannot afford to pay.

The Blytheville Humane Society and dogs are very thankful for the anonymous donation of a cover for our front fence. Tarps were up but not very effective since it is a large area -- this is going to make play time a great time.

A big "thank you" to Tana H. and family who took two Golden Lab puppies from the Manila Animal Control to a rescue on their way to vacation. Tana also took a Boxer puppy and Scottish Terrier from Manila and they too will have a home.

We received a call from Osceola that a mother dog had died under a house and left puppies. Susie B. found a rescue and Diane J. and daughter drove these orphans to a rescue.

Donations, memorials or honorariums can be sent to PO Box 1855, Blytheville AR 72315. We appreciate any support so that we can continue to help area animals find forever homes.
