Charlie Daniels Band to play at Bootheel casino

The Charlie Daniels Band is coming to Lady Luck Casino in Caruthersville.

The legendary Southern rock and country music band will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Outdoor Amphitheater. Gates will open at 5:30 p.m.

Popular since the 1970s, The Charlie Daniels Band boasts hits such as "Long Haired Country Boy," "The Legend of Wooley Swamp," "Drinkin' My Baby Goodbye," "Simple Man" and their most popular single, "The Devil Went Down To Georgia."

Daniels has earned numerous awards during his career, including a Grammy award for Best Country Vocal Performance in 1979 for "The Devil Went Down To Georgia." His most recent album, "Off The Grid -- Doin' It Dylan," was released in April and pays tribute to the music of singer-songwriter, Bob Dylan.
