City's Fishing Rodeo called a success

To the editor:

On May 10, the Blytheville Parks and Recreation Department held its first Fishing Rodeo, and may I say it was a huge success. We are very thankful for all the young people who came out to fish. Parents, thank you.

The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission stocked the pond with catfish especially for the event. Blytheville Parks and Recreation would like to thank Mayor James Sanders, the Blytheville Courier News and K-jam for all of their coverage and a big thank you to the Parks and Recreation crew for having the park and pond looking so great.

Thanks to the Blytheville's Emergency Squad, Mike Parish and the Miss and Teen Lights of the Delta, and the NEA queens for all their hard work.
