MOUNTAIN HOME -- The Armorel Lady Tigers season came to an abrupt end after a 3-1 loss to Midland in the 1A state quarterfinals.
Brooke Trout's RBI double in the top of the third scoring Rylee Nelson put the Lady Tigers on top, 1-0, but Midland took advantage of an error and a wild pitch in the bottom of the fifth to plate three runs and hold on for the win. Armorel put two runners on in the top of the sixth but Midland pitcher, Paisley Pratt, kept the Lady Tigers from scoring.
Pratt allowed four Armorel hits, three in the third inning, while striking out nine over seven complete innings of work. She retired the final five Lady Tiger batters to end the game.
Trout took the loss for the Lady Tigers allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out five.
Along with Trout, Nelson and Amanda Skelton picked up hits for the Lady Tigers.
Armorel finishes with a 23-7 record overall. The Lady Tigers collected conference and district titles and finished second in the 1A Region 2 tournament.
