ARMOREL -- The Armorel Lady Tigers improved to 8-3 on the season after an 8-6 win over 4A Trumann Thursday night.
Abigail McCauley picked up the win for the Lady Tigers.
McCauley allowed just one earned run over five and a third innings pitched while striking out four.
Katie Weld retired eight of the 10 batters she faced in two and two thirds innings in relief to pick up the save.
Armorel's big innings came in the first and the third.
Three consecutive hits in the first from Brooke Trout, Tia Sellers and Ashlyn Brees helped the Lady Tigers jump out to a 3-0 lead.
Armorel got three consecutive hits in the third inning, this time from Luisa Towery, McCauley and Caitlyn Smith to add four more runs to the board and take a 7-2 lead.
Armorel added another run in the bottom of the fourth before Trumann threatened with four in the fifth but the Lady Tigers allowed them to get no closer.
Amorel's game with Gosnell on Friday has been cancelled. The Lady Tigers will play in the Rivercrest tournament this weekend.
