JONESBORO -- The Gosnell Pirates won their second game of the Extra Innings Classic Tournament in Jonesboro. The Pirates picked up a 3-2 win over Walnut Ridge Friday morning at Valley View High School.
Ricky Gable went the distance for the Pirates. Gable allowed two runs on six hits over seven innings of work. He retired 11 of the final 13 men he faced.
Gosnell scored a run in the second. Trailing 2-1 in the sixth, the Pirates scored a run in each of the final two innings to post the victory.
Gable, Andrew Scott, Will Camp, Justin Mann (double and a single) and Carlos Blackman collected hits for the Pirate offense.
Inclement weather Friday night and Saturday canceled the rest of the tournament. There has been no date set for rescheduling the remaining games.
The Pirates improved to 6-4 on the season. Gosnell heads to Trumann Tuesday night for a 3-4A conference double-headers against the Wildcats, and then travel to Paragould April 3-5 for the Glen Sain Tournament in Paragould.
