The Mississippi County Regional Solid Waste Management District approved a resolution for a new waste tire services contract with West River Valley Regional Solid Waste Management District for the inter-district waste tire program.

The Mississippi County Regional Solid Waste Management District approved a resolution for a new waste tire services contract with West River Valley Regional Solid Waste Management District for the inter-district waste tire program.

The contract with West River Valley is for the collection, transportation and disposal of all waste tires. According to the contract, a collection trailer will be placed at the Mississippi County landfill and all collected tires will be properly processed and recycled.

Per the contract, agreed to by the Solid Waste committee in its resolution which was signed off on by Mississippi County Judge Randy Carney, the county will receive $10 for every ton collected. The payment is in exchange for the county's agreement to supervise the collection receptacles.
