The weather is once again wreaking havoc with the local basketball and now baseball schedules.

The 1A state tournament in Harrison has been moved back one day. The Armorel Tigers, scheduled to play Kirby at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday night, will now play at the same time on Wednesday night. As for when he can get his team on the road, Tiger head coach Justin Ward still wasn't sure as of Tuesday morning.

"We were supposed to leave yesterday (Monday)," said Ward. "That didn't happen. Then we were supposed to leave today but that's not going to happen either."

Ward said he's been in contact with his players and may have a "non-mandatory open gym" just to keep them in shape.

As for baseball, between basketball state tournaments and the weather, this week's entire slate of games appears to be in jeopardy.

Blytheville was to open Monday against Piggott but that was cancelled and head coach Randy Smith said it looks like the rest of the week will be cancelled as well.

"We just have to wait and see," said Smith.

If Armorel wins Wednesday night, they're scheduled to play at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The 1A state tournament is being played on the campus of North Arkansas College in Harrison.

The Arkansas Activities Association has revised state tournament brackets on its website at www.ahsaa.org and can be followed on Twitter at @ArkActAssnAAA
