J.A. Smith
Mr. J.A. Smith, 87, of Jonesboro, entered into rest Monday, Feb. 17, 2014. He was born Jan. 1, 1927, in Booneville, Miss., to Jodie Smith and Clara Smith. He was the retired Superintendent of Luxora School District and of the Methodist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Benita Smith; one daughter Latricia Bryan; his parents; and one brother, Hollis Smith.
He is survived by two sons, James Smith of Texarkana, Ark., and Bradley Smith of Collierville, Tenn.;
One daughter, Lisa Carter of Jumpertown, Miss.;
His grandchildren, Jamie, Clifford, Tory, Hayden, Hunter, Braden, Taylor, Krista, Hannah, Jenna, Kristin, Kayleigh and Drew;
Nine great-grandchildren; and
A sister, Mamie Ward of Booneville, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Roller-Swift Funeral Home in Osceola. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Roller-Swift Funeral Home with burial following at 1 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. An online guest book is available at www.rollerfuneralhomes.com
