BROOKLAND--The Gosnell Junior Pirates captured the 3-4A district title with a 46-41 win over Cave City Saturday night.

Gosnell trailed Cave City, 6-5, at the end of one. Trailing by six in the second period, Gosnell's Rodale Jones buried a three-pointer as time expired in the period to cut the Cavemen lead to 20-17 at the break.

The Pirates took the lead in the third and led 29-27 heading into the fourth.

Brandon Partee scored 11 of his 14 points in the fourth period and the Pirates shot 4-for-5 from the free throw line down the stretch to seal the deal.

Partee's 14 paced the Pirates scoring, Tramaine Anderson scored 11, Cincir Evans added 10, Tabari Herron scored six and Jones chipped in five.
