Many area schools will be in session on Monday, Presidents Day, to make up for days missed because of inclement weather.
The Blytheville, Gosnell, Armorel and Cooter school districts will all be in session Monday to make up days missed because of two significant stints of winter weather that made its way through the area, the first back in December and the second hitting last week.
Many local school districts, like Gosnell, Armorel and Cooter, are taking advantage of minor holidays to make up days, hoping to keep from having to extend the school year.
"We used Martin Luther King Day, and we've got Presidents Day and Good Friday also built in as snow days, so hopefully we can avoid having to tack on any more days," said Gosnell Superintendent Bonard Mace.
