Tommye Eubanks

Mrs. Tommye Nelda Eubanks, 77, longtime Manila resident and widow of Scott Eubanks, passed from this life Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo. Born Aug. 4, 1936, in Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Jess and Cora Lowry Carnal and was raised in the Arbyrd and Leachville communities. A 1968 graduate of Arkansas State University, she earned degrees in special education and elementary education and went on to teach in the Leachville and Manila Public Schools. She had been a Manila resident for the past 60 years and was a member of the Westside Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Tonia Eubanks of Manila; two daughters, Diane Wagner of Manila and Karen Burks and husband Lynn of Manila; three grandchildren, Michelle Schwartz and husband Jeff of Marion, Scott Eubanks and Jared Burks, both of Manila. She also leaves one great-granddaughter, Addison Clare Schwartz. Funeral service was 1 p.m. Monday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila with Rev. Wade Shownes officiating. Burial followed in Manila Cemetery.

The family received visitors Monday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
