Annual toy drive called a success
To the editor:
We at Farmers Bank & Trust would like to take this opportunity to thank our many customers and employees who donated toys and money to our annual toy drive this year.
It started out slow, but as always, everyone came through to help make this a wonderful Christmas for the Mississippi County foster children and also for the kids at The Haven.
A big thank you to PEO sorority sisters, Oscar's Auto Salvage, Me & My Sisters', Cotton Classic Car Club and Cars & Cycles Against Cancer, Mississippi County Democrats, the retired military members who collected items and brought them to us; Ritter Communications, Sudbury Broadcasting and The Courier News for the ads they ran for us; also, Dale at The Computer Terminal for his year-round donations; our loyal customers; and last, but not to be forgotten, the employees at Farmers Bank, for all the donations they made.
A big thank you to Jennifer Crawford, William King and Donna Barnhart for all their help shopping, and to Glodine Brown, our greeter, who is a big help during the holiday season.
And let's not forget Pat and Danny Harris, who got us started with this project many, many years ago, and who are always there to pick up the toys and see that they get delivered right on time.
Thank you again, and I hope everyone has a prosperous and healthy New Year.
