Noble C. Dunkerson, 87, of Black Oak passed from this life at 1:22 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. He was born to the late Arthur and Bertha Dunkerson on Dec. 13, 1926, and spent his entire life in the Black Oak and Caraway area. He was an ordained deacon and a thirty second degree Mason. He was a member of the Caraway Baptist Church and has attended the Black Oak and Caraway Baptist Churches. Mr. Dunkerson was a lifelong farmer and he loved to hunt and fish. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Mr. Dunkerson was preceded in death by his parents as well as a grandson, Marshall Dunkerson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Dorris Kirksey Dunkerson of the home; daughter Kathy Starnes and husband John of Caraway; son Larry Dunkerson and wife Dana of Black Oak; grandchildren, Shawna Barber and husband Blake of Jonesboro, Tysha Starnes of Caraway, Kyla Futrell and husband Chris of Jonesboro, Daniel Dunkerson of Lake City and Sarah Dunkerson of Jonesboro; great-grandchildren, Wes Thompkins of Caraway and Evie Futrell of Jonesboro.

The family will receive friends from noon until 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, at the First Baptist Church in Black Oak. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, in the church with Rev. Rick Stevens officiating. Interment followed in Monette Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Henry D. Finch, Kris Kelton, Allen Finch, Dane McCord, John McCord and Bishop Whitley. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Bowden, Rev. J.W. Gibbs, Jerry Qualls, Robert Banks and the No. 1 Sunday School Class of the Caraway First Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Caraway building fund.
