John L. Sanders
Mr. John L. Sanders, 59, of Blytheville, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro. Born April 15, 1954, to Ella Lewis Sanders and the late L.C. Sanders Sr., he was a retired Lt. Officer for the Mississippi County Sheriff and a member of New St. Paul Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon and Trustee.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Emma Gibson.
Mr. Sanders leaves his loving wife of 20 years, Brenda Carol Jefferson Sanders of Blytheville;
Three daughters, Johnifer (and William) Goodrum of Chicago, Katrina Henry of Little Rock and Chaka Simmons of Hiram, Ga.;
Five sons, Steven (and Kymela) Ford of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Starlist Simmons of Trumann, Brian Sanders of Blytheville, Cedric Simmons of Fayetteville and Dennis Isebell of Manila;
Seven sisters, Dorothy Simmons of Albany, Ga., Janeette Day and Bertha (and Jesse) King of Blytheville, JoAnn (and Ray) Daley of Jonesboro, Julia (and Leon) Bowie and Idella Sanders of Houston, Texas;
Three brothers, L.C. Sanders Jr., Eugene Sanders and James (and Joyce) Sanders of Blytheville; and
Fourteen grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at New St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Clark Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Wilson Funeral Home.
