Imogene M. Casteel
Imogene M. Casteel, 90, of Red Oak, Texas, passed away Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Baylor Medical Center in Waxahachie, Texas.
Imogene was born in Blytheville March 24, 1923, to the late Allen C. and Mattie (Webster) Moody. She graduated from Blytheville High School and then attended secretarial school and went to work for ASCS division of the federal government. At age 25, Imogene became a single parent with a five-year old boy and nine-month baby girl and another boy on the way. Since she was the only parent in her children's lives, she became very committed to sacrificially providing for their well being and care, choosing not to date or remarry. Her love has been evident through the years. She was a lifelong member of Gosnell Baptist Church of Gosnell. Imogene was committed to her faith, family and friends. Her life was a true testimony to her Christian walk. As mentioned by her family, her spiritual gift was a servant's hear. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Imogene's survivors include her three loving children, Ed (and Melvina) Casteel of Missouri, Mary (and Cliff) Landsell of Red Oak, Texas, and Chris (and Angie) Casteel of Kansas;
She was a grandmother with six grandsons, a great-grandmother of 15, and great-great-grandmother of 3.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other living relatives and friends.
Along with her parents, Imogene was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, at Gosnell Baptist Church in Gosnell. A graveside service will follow.
