Buffalo Island Central pulled off the trifecta in senior boys basketball, defeating Earle 60-45 Tuesday night at Monette, followed up by a pair of close road victories Friday and Saturday. The Mustangs traveled to Kirby Friday night and came away with a heart-stopping 62-61 win before slipping past Jessieville 52-50 Saturday afternoon in the Hot Springs Village Lions Club Tip-Off Classic.

The Mustangs used a big fourth quarter to finish off Earle Tuesday night at the MAC. Nick Bollinger and Jacob Sanders pumped in 19 points apiece while Alan Carmichael added 10 boards to propel BIC to victory.

Jacob Sanders poured in 20 points while Austin Pike added 19 in BIC's win at Kirby. Alan Carmichael also hit double digits, scoring 13 points.

BIC improved to 7-1 on the season, rallying from a fourth quarter deficit to slip past Jessieville. Austin Pike led the Mustangs with a game high 27 points. BIC held a 16-13 lead after the opening quarter and took a 24-21 advantage into the dressing room at the half. Jessieville rallied to take a 36-33 lead into the final frame, before the Mustangs outscored the hosts 19-14 to pull out the win.

In junior high action, BIC fell to Earle 58-43. Trey DePriest led the Mustangs with 19 points while Dax Hurst added 11 more.

Lady Mustangs

The Lady Mustangs fell to defending conference champion Marmaduke 70-47 Thursday night at the MAC. Lady Greyhound sharpshooter Sidnee Bopp pumped in a game high 22 points, including a perfect 10-10 performance from the foul line to pace Marmaduke.

Madison Price added 11 points while Callie Price chipped in nine, as the Lady Greyhounds remained unbeaten at 4-0 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Hannah Poe led BIC (6-1, 1-1 2A-3) with 10 points.

In junior high action, BIC improved to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with a 44-37 win over the Lady Greyhounds. Heather Sipes led BIC with 11 points.

BIC stormed back from a seven point third quarter deficit to defeat McCrory 62-55 Monday night on the road. The Lady Mustangs outscored the Lady Jaguars 28-14 in the final frame, including a 16-18 performance from the foul line to secure the victory.

Madison Greathouse pumped in 22 points to lead BIC while Hannah Poe and Taylor McKuin added 13 and 11 points respectively.

BIC also took the junior high game with a 46-31 win. Heather Sipes led the Lady Mustangs with 12 points while Curston Davis added 10 more.

BIC's boys will return to action Tuesday night, playing host to Augusta in their 2A-3 conference opener. The Mustangs will take on Riverside Friday night at the MAC. The junior Mustangs will participate in the Bay Invitational, beginning Monday at Bay High School.

The Lady Mustangs will host Augusta Tuesday night before taking on Riverside Thursday night at home. The junior girls will also participate in the Bay Invitational Tournament this week.
