Mr. Billy Gene Cooper, 77, of Blytheville, died Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born Nov. 11, 1936, in Holland, Mo., he was a retired truck driver, a Pentecostal, and a veteran of the United States Navy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Cooper and Ethel Barnes Elliott; a sister, Maxine Farmer; brothers Donald Cooper and Earnest Cooper; and a niece, Tonya McGlaughlin.
Mr. Cooper leaves one daughter, Donna Cooper of Winter Haven, Fla.;
Three step-daughters, Catherine Smith of Edinburg, Judy Ball of Winter Haven, and Lois Ball of North Carolina;
One step-son, Jimmy Ball of Winter Haven;
Two sisters, Mary Anderson of Wingo and Betty Payton of Blytheville;
One brother, Doyle Cooper of Glasgow; and
Three grandchildren, Candice Lewis of Blytheville, Rodney Lewis of Gosnell and Anthony Lewis of Winter Haven.
The family will receive visitors from noon-2 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Home in Blytheville. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Jimmy Huffman, will begin at 2 p.m., following the visitation. Burial will follow at Sandy Ridge Cemetery.
