ARMOREL--The Riverside Rebels took three out of four games from the Armorel Tigers Friday night, splitting the senior and junior high boys games and sweeping the senior and junior high girls games.
BOYS
SENIOR HIGH
Riverside 57,
Armorel 34
Riverside jumped out to a 16-7 first-period lead on their way to a 57-34 win over the host Armorel Tigers Friday night.
The Rebels lead 31-17 at halftime, getting 11 points from Kollin Stone the first two quarters. They led 46-21 heading into the fourth period.
Sophomore Dalton Emberg lead the Tigers (2-4) with nine points, Lane Finely added eight, Zach Gray, Angel Martinez and Josh Tye each had four, Nash Winters scored three and Peyton Brown added two.
Stone lead all scorers with 16 for the Rebels. Brandon Sain and Devon Austin each had 10 a piece.
JUNIOR HIGH
Armorel 43,
Riverside 42, OT
Trailing by two points with under 30 seconds to play, Seth Wyatt's open court steal and layup sent the game into overtime where the Tigers pulled out a 43-42 win over Riverside.
A three-pointer from Conner Walls helped seal the deal for the Tigers (3-4) in the extra frame.
The game was tied at 13-13 at halftime and Armorel led 27-23 heading into the fourth period.
Wyatt led all scorers with 14, Logan Blankenship added nine and Trevon Tate chipped in eight.
Dylan Davis led the Rebels with 11 points.
GIRLS
SENIOR HIGH
Riverside 51, Armorel 27
The Riverside Lady Rebels jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the first period and cruised to a 51-27 win over the Armorel Lady Tigers Friday night.
The Rebels led 21-7 at halftime and 37-15 heading into the fourth.
Amanda Skelton led the Lady Tigers (0-7) with 14 points and Luisa Towery added five points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Kenzley Wilson led all scorers with 18 points for the Lady Rebels.
JUNIOR HIGH
Riverside 32, Armorel 29
The Riverside junior Lady Rebels defeated the Armorel junior Lady Tigers, 32-29.
Rachel McKuin led the Lady Tigers with eight points, seven rebounds and five steals. Brooke Trout scored eight as well for Armorel.
Haven Robertston led all scorers with 14 points for the Lady Rebels.
