Roy Earl Poplin

Mr. Roy Earl Poplin, 87, son of James and Annie Poplin, was born Aug. 14, 1926, in Dover, and died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013, in Gosnell.

He was united in marriage with Mary Sue Maughn 65 years ago in Danville. Mary Sue preceded him in death in 2012.

Roy worked for many years in the farming industry.

He leaves one son and daughter-in-law, Roy Wayne and Susan Poplin of Blytheville;

One daughter, Mary Louise Prince of Chattanooga, Tenn.;

One brother, Gerald Poplin of Heber Springs; and

Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at Powell Funeral Home in Steele. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion.
