Buffalo Island Central School Board recognized the student council, robotics club and the 2013 boys state golf champions at the meeting held Monday, Oct. 14. Marty Edwards and Tracey Yates were also acknowledged for their efforts in obtaining grants for their classrooms.
The resignation of Marcia Davis, superintendent's secretary, was accepted. Council approved the salaries of Laura McFarlin, Lisa Moad and Dana Poe and gave their new job descriptions. They are: Laura McFarlin ($39,550), financial business manager responsible for payroll, employee insurance, budget preparations and budget and coding training for the district; Lisa Moad ($26,000), office manager in charge of accounts payable, food service billing and day to day operations of the superintendent's office; Dana Poe ($3,454), District East school coordinator and junior high office secretary. The additional money for Ms. Poe is in addition to her salary.
The savings to the district is $11,183.20 by downsizing from three employees in the central office to two.
A technolocy training meeting will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the West Elementary Library.
Basketball season passes were set at $65 for adults and $25 for students.
