OSCEOLA--The Blytheville Junior Chickasaws began the 2013 season where they left off in 2012 --with another win. The Junior Chicks (1-0) traveled to Osceola (0-1) and defeated the Junior Seminoles, 36-6.

The win runs the Junior Chicks winning streak to 10 games going back to last year.

Blytheville quarterback, Desmond Moore hooked up with tight end Donavon Winter for three touchdown passes in the first half as the Chicks built a 28-0 lead by halftime. Moore threw for 200 yards in the first half while Winter collected over 150 receiving yards and an interception.

The first score was a 15-yard strike with 4:51 left in the first period. The play capped a nine-play, 60-yard drive to open the game. Moore hit Winter on a 35-yard pass on a key fourth-and-long to keep the drive alive.

On the ensuing Seminole drive, John Wamble recovered a fumble for the Chicks at the Osceola 32 yard line setting up the Chicks next score.

Six plays later, Moore scrambled across the goal line on a quarterback keeper upping the Chicks lead to 14-0 as time expired in the first.

Blytheville increased its lead to 20-0 with a 36-yard touchdown pass from Moore to Winter with 1:52 left to play in the half. But the Chicks weren't done scoring.

An interception at the Blytheville 15-yard line with 50 seconds on the clock was enough time for the Chicks offense to get one more score in before halftime.

Wamble set up the final score with a 36-yard run and 15 yards were added for a face mask penalty on the Seminoles. From there, Moore hit his favorite target, Winter, this time for 34 yards with 18 seconds left giving Blytheville a 28-0 lead at the break.

Osceola managed to break the goal line at the end of the third as Blytheville took a 28-6 lead into the fourth quarter. The Chicks put together one more scoring drive. With 4:45 remaining in the game, Tony Newmy, dashed 26 yards to pay dirt. Newmy scored the two-point conversion to give the Chicks their margin of victory. Newmy set up his score with a 17-yard run on the previous play.

The win was the first for first year head coach D.J. Vincent.

"I was extremely pleased with our effort," said Vincent. "We were able to work everyone in and get them some playing time."

Blytheville will play their home opener on Thursday, September 12 against West Memphis East.
