The Blytheville 14-year-old All-Stars recently won the Junior Babe Ruth District Tournament. The Blytheville 14-year-old All-Stars claimed the Junior Babe Ruth District championship Sunday night by defeating Jonesboro, 10-6, at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex.

Down 1-0 after four innings, Blytheville scored three in the in the fifth to take a 3-1 lead.

Then, the host team exploded for six runs in the top of the sixth, and the lead swelled to 9-1. Jonesboro countered with two in the home half, but Blytheville got one back in the seventh. Jonesboro scored three in the bottom of the seventh to end the game.

Guy Bennett earned the win and helped his cause with a base hit. Zach Kibler had three hits to lead the Blytheville offense. Gunner Ault and Daniel Robinson both singled and doubled, while Ronnie McShan and Matthew Miller added a hit apiece in the win.

Paragould 0

Blytheville needed just five innings to dispose of Paragould.

The host team scored three in the first, four in the second, two in the third, three in the fourth and one in the fifth.

Miller picked up the win, recording five strikeouts.

He helped his cause with a double.

Also getting hits for Blytheville were: McShan (single, double), Kibler (double), Bennett, Tucker Thompson (triple, single), Cody Watson (two hits), Ault, and Taylor Riggs.
