The Blytheville Summer Nationals is back as the Sports Car Club of America makes its return to town.
This will be round seven of the Tire Rack SCCA ProSolo Series on the front half of the Fourth of July weekend.
The event will be held Wednesday through Friday at the Arkansas Aeroplex. As of Friday afternoon, there were 134 registered for the Blytheville Summer Nationals.
Entrants are coming in from places like New York, Virginia, Texas, Alabama, Florida, Ohio, Arkansas, Missouri, Tennessee, Georgia, Washington, Michigan, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Iowa, Illinois and Kansas.
"To beat the heat, plans are in the works to have lots of shade and mist tents on site," the Sports Car Club of America's website says. "The site is one of the best in the country, and Blytheville courses tend to lean to the fast side with plenty of challenge to go around."
Wednesday will feature practices, drivers meetings and course setup.
Competition begins at 9 a.m. Thursday. Heat 1 will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Heat 2 will follow from 1:30-5:30 p.m.
Heat 3 competition begins at 8 a.m. Friday with the Challenge Competition set for later that afternoon, from 1:30-4 p.m. There will be an awards presentation after Friday's racing.
