The Rhodes Family has been associated with music since the early 1930s when Slim, Dusty, Speck and Bea Rhodes started touring the country. They had a regular radio show at KWOC in Poplar Bluff several years ago called Slim Rhodes and Mother's Best Mountaineers. They later went on to do television shows at KAIT in Jonesboro, KARN in Little Rock, and WMCT, out of Memphis, called The Rhodes Show. Their Memphis show aired from 1948-1975.

Dusty's daughters, Sandy and Donna, also have kept the family's musical tradition alive with amazing resumes including singing harmonies with Elvis, Garth Brooks, Al Green, Conway Twitty, The Bee Gees, Clint Black, John "Cougar" Mellencamp and the list goes on and on.

Dusty Rhodes was actually born right outside of Manila and his family has always felt a kinship to the area.

Donna Rhodes is married to a local musician, Craig Morris, who is well known in the area and has his own long list of musical accomplishments. He presently travels with Lorretta Lynn and the Coal Miners playing piano and singing background vocals. Craig has toured with acts from Donny and Marie Osmond to Dobie Gray and has written songs for Ray Charles, Reba McEntire, Gene Watson, The Oak Ridge Boys and Craig Morgan.

Sandy and Brenda Barnett wrote the song "The Clown," a big hit for Conway Twitty, in the early 1980s and toured with Mel Tillis and many others.
