Durant Brown
Mr. Durant Brown, 62, of Paragould, formerly of Gosnell, passed from this life Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at his home.
Born in Eupora, Miss., to Thomas Edward and Peggy Faye Slaughter Brown, he was a retired crew leader for the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and was of the Baptist Faith. Durant was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and he loved playing with his grandchildren. He was especially proud of his Granddaddy Brown's tractor that he and O'Gene Poff restored.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Elmer Brown.
Durant is survived by his wife, Peggy Duncan Brown, of the home;
His sons, Tommy Brown and wife, Mindy, and Jason Brown, both of Paragould;
His grandchildren, Sean Brown and Brooke Brown, both of Hoxie, and Landon Brown and Carmen Brown, both of Greenbriar;
His brothers and sisters, Jim Brown and wife, Bea, of Calamine, Bill Brown and wife, Sandy of Gosnell, Dolly Brooks of Drummonds, Tenn., Eva Gonzales of Blytheville, Donna Pereszlay and husband, Jim, of Defiance, Ohio, Phillip Brown and wife, Mary, of Kennett, Mo., Bruce Brown of Branson, Mo., and Sandy Poff of Gosnell; and
Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mitchell King Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. An online register may be signed at cobbfuneralhome.com
