Athel "Datsy" Parker

Athel "Datsy" Parker, 80, of Manila, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born at Manila, he was the son of the late James and Leona Brown Parker and had been a lifelong Manila resident. He was a retired farmer, and a member of the Bethany Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Boone Parker, and a daughter, Darlene Rodgers.

Survivors include two sons, Jackey Parker and Sammy Parker, both of Manila; two sisters, Katherine Kidwell and Jeweldene Davis, both of Texarkana, Texas. He also leaves eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial followed in Manila Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors Friday evening, May 3, from 6-8 at the funeral home.
