Athel 'Datsy' Parker

Mr. Athel "Datsy" Parker, 80, of Manila, died Thursday, May 2, 2013, at Great River Medical Center in Blytheville. Born in Manila, he was the son of the late James and Leona Brown Parker and had been a lifelong Manila resident. He was a retired farmer, and a member of the Bethany Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Boone Parker; and a daughter, Darlene Rodgers.

Survivors include two sons, Jackey Parker and Sammy Parker, both of Manila;

Two sisters, Katherine Kidwell and Jeweldene Davis, both of Texarkana, Texas; and

Eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Guests may register at www.HowardFuneralService.com
