Mr. Vernon Lee Payton, 59, of Jonesboro, formerly of Marked Tree, died Friday, March 29, 2013, at St. Bernard's in Jonesboro. Born Dec. 24, 1953, in Marked Tree, he was a farmer and a Pentecostal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carter Payton and Clara Atchley; and his brother, Lonnie Payton.
Mr. Payton leaves two sisters, Judy Payton and Patsy Payton of Virginia Beach, Va.; and
Four brothers, James Payton and David Payton of Marked Tree, Jarry Payton of Gadsden, and Benny Payton of Dyess.
A memorial service, officiated by Bro. Lynn Vinson, will be held at 2 p.m. today at the Wilson Funeral Home in Tyronza.
