An appreciation dinner was held Feb. 22 in honor of Charles Cobb. Cobb has been an employee with the city of Gosnell for more than 38 years, having started on Feb. 2, 1975.

The city started off with two employees doing all of the public works, and as of today, there are nine currently working.

"With his diligence and dedication to the city, everyone has enjoyed the pleasure of working with him as an excellent team player," said Gosnell Mayor Don Marshall. "Over the years he has shown hard work and commitment and has truly made a difference in the community. With his years of valuable expertise, I guess he has earned the right of saying that, 'I have been here as long as dirt,' as he always says.

"We appreciate all of your hard work and we can always count on you. Thank you for your outstanding service."
