Mr. Bobby Ray Scott, 76, of Manila, died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro. Born in the Blackwater Community, near Manila, he was the son of the late Raymond Arthur Scott and had been a lifelong area resident. Bobby was a 1954 graduate of Manila High School, had served in the U.S. Army, and was a retired tool and die maker for the Randall Company and Prospect Steel in Blytheville.

He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Manila, serving on the bereavement and property committees. He also served on the Manila Cemetery Board and Cotton Boll Vo-Tech Board. Bobby was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gean Scott and Jimmy Scott; and a great-grandson, Jonothan Bearden.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Betty Morgan Scott of the home;

His son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Sharon Scott of Blytheville;

His daughter, Renee Scott Ward and her friend, Philip Gaston of Gosnell;

His mother, Violet Waddell Alexander of Manila;

Two sisters, Elizabeth Vance of Truxton, Mo., and Marcia Morgan of Swansea, Ill.;

Two grandchildren, Morgan Rouse and her husband, Michael, of Blytheville, and Stacy McKenzie and her husband, B. J., of Ward, Ark.; and

Four great-grandchildren, Ozzy, Brandon, Grayden and Berklee.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Manila with the Rev. Ferrel Duffel and the Rev. Jared Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Manila Cemetery under the direction of Howard Funeral Service of Manila. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. at the Howard Funeral Service Chapel in Manila. Pallbearers will be Paul Wayne Hicks, Jimmy Hicks, Robbie Veach, Gene Adams, Jerry Hitchcock and Allen Donner. Guests may register at www.HowardFuneralService.com
