Jesse Wilburn Palmer

Mr. Jesse Wilburn Palmer, 76, of Dresden, Tenn., died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in his home. Born July 20, 1936, to the late Alonzo and Clara Hoggard Palmer, he was a U.S. Army Veteran.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sister, Wanda Faye Palmer Tankersly.

Mr. Palmer leaves his wife, Shirley L. Essary of Bloomington, Ill.;

Two daughters, Brenda Akers of Blytheville and step-daughter Melinda Failes of Hernando, Fla.;

Four sons, Kevin Palmer of Aurora, Ill., Keith Palmer of Bloomington, Ill., Billy Miller of Springfield, Mo., and step-son Carson Keen of Spartanburg, S.C.;

One sister, Mayrene Cummins of Sandwich, Ill.; and

Ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday at Bowlin Funeral Home Chapel in Dresden, Tenn., officiated by Larry Reagan. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery.
